Newly-formed Aerospace India Association showcases India’s capability at Paris Airshow

Aerospace India Association showcasing Indian aerospace exports at Paris Airshow 2025

A strong contingent of Indian aerospace companies, under the banner of the Aerospace India Association (AIA), recently made its presence felt at the  Paris Air Show, signalling India’s ascent as a key player in the global aerospace industry. AIA’s participation for the first time at the premier industry event highlights the depth and diversity of India’s aerospace ecosystem, ranging from global large ecosystem companies to nimble micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and spans domains across the aerospace manufacturing value chain.

Commenting on AIA’s presence at Le Bourget, Dr. S. Dwarakanath, Director General, AIA, said: “Our participation in the Paris Air Show is more than just symbolic. It is a strategic move to position India as a trusted long-term partner in the global aerospace value chain. We are here to highlight capabilities, forge high-value collaborations, and attract co-investment across design, manufacturing, and innovation.”

With India on track to become the world’s third-largest commercial aviation market by 2030, thanks to increasing passenger traffic and the strong momentum from government-led initiatives such as Atmanirbhar Bharat, India’s aerospace sector is undergoing a transformative phase.

AIA aims to accelerate this transformation by enabling global partnerships for co-development and innovation in aerospace technologies, and by engaging OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and government delegations for joint ventures and technology collaborations.

To Grow Aerospace Exports 10X

AIA aims to grow India’s aerospace exports 10x in the next decade by strengthening design and manufacturing capabilities across the supply chain. India has a unique value proposition for global aerospace companies thanks to the abundance of engineering talent with an annual supply of over 1.5 million STEM graduates with deep expertise in design and simulation, a competitive base of world-class facilities delivering high precision component manufacturing capabilities and a robust policy support through dedicated aerospace special economic zones, liberalised foreign direct investment regimes, and proactive institutional frameworks under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Defence and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Industrial Trade. The AIA is focusing on strengthening India’s capabilities in areas such as aircraft components, space technology, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS). With the global aerospace market growing rapidly, there is huge demand for innovative technologies, and India’s robust talent pool and lower manufacturing costs make it an attractive destination for investment. The industry has set itself a target of $20 billion in exports, which the AIA believes is possible to achieve, considering the consolidation of the aerospace ecosystem in recent years.
