Embraer closed the third quarter of 2025 with its highest-ever quarterly revenue but a smaller profit, reflecting higher activity in commercial and executive jets alongside short-term cost pressure.

The company earned US $2 billion in revenue, an 18 % rise from a year ago. Operating profit — known as adjusted EBIT — stood at US $172 million, giving an 8.6 % margin.

A year earlier that margin had been flattered by a large settlement from Boeing; excluding that, this year’s performance was broadly the same. Import tariffs of about US $17 million reduced Embraer’s quarterly profit margin by roughly one percentage point.

Net profit for the quarter was US $128.8 million, compared with US $181.7 million in 2024.

On an adjusted basis, which removes tax timing effects and past one-off items, profit came to US $54.4 million versus US $221 million a year ago.

The fall mainly reflects the absence of last year’s exceptional gain and the extra tariff costs this year.

Embraer ended the quarter with US $ 2.08 billion in cash and an unused US $ 1 billion credit line.

Its credit profile continued to strengthen, with S&P lifting the rating to BBB and Fitch and Moody’s moving their outlooks to positive.

Commercial and Executive Jets

The company delivered 62 aircraft in the quarter — 20 commercial jets41 executive jets, and one for defence — 5 % more than the same period last year.

Among commercial aircraft, 13 E2s and 7 E1s showed the gradual shift to Embraer’s newer, fuel-efficient models.

Commercial Aviation revenue rose 31 % to US $618 million, helped by more deliveries and stronger prices.

The division posted a small operating profit of 1.3 %, compared with a 4.8 % loss a year earlier. Gross margin improved to 7.1 % from 4.3 %, supported by higher production and the absence of last year’s exceptional costs.

In Executive Aviation, revenue increased 4 % to US $583 million. The company delivered 23 light and 18 medium jets, but profitability slipped.

Operating margin fell to 12.1 % from 16.3 % as tariffs of about US $15 million and higher freight costs weighed on results.

Even so, orders for the Phenom and Praetor series remained firm, keeping the division’s pipeline healthy.

Backlog and Guidance

Total gross profit stood at US $344 million, about 17 % of revenue. The order backlog reached US $31.3 billion, up 5 % from the previous quarter and 38 % higher than a year ago — the largest in Embraer’s history. Executive-jet backlog grew 65 %, while Commercial rose 37 %.

The company kept its 2025 outlook unchanged.

It continues to expect revenue between US $7 and 7.5 billion, an operating margin of 7.5–8.3%, and free cash flow of at least US $200 million.

Deliveries are projected at 77–85 commercial jets and 145–155 executive jets. Most shipments are planned for the final quarter, following Embraer’s usual year-end pattern.

Key Takeaways

Embraer’s third-quarter numbers tell a straightforward story: revenue and deliveries are rising, the order book is the largest on record, and demand for new-generation jets remains firm. Profit is lower only because last year’s exceptional income is no longer in the base, and tariffs added short-term cost.

With guidance intact and liquidity strong, Embraer heads into the final stretch of 2025 focused on meeting its delivery goals and sustaining the momentum into 2026.
