Embraer Boosts E-Freighter Portfolio at Paris Air Show 2025

Embraer is tapping into the rising demand for regional cargo aircraft, clinching key agreements for its E-Freighter aircraft at the 55th Paris Air Show on June 18, 2025. Through an expanded order from Regional One and a landmark lease deal with Bridges Air Cargo, Embraer is driving the adoption of its E190F, a converted freighter tailored for the fast-paced e-commerce and logistics markets.

Regional One Doubles E-Freighter Commitment

Embraer has announced an expanded partnership with Regional One, Inc., a U.S.-based leasing company. This new agreement adds two additional passenger-to-freight (P2F) conversions to Regional One’s existing order of two E-Freighters, doubling their commitment. The announcement was made by Embraer’s President and CEO of Commercial Aviation, Arjan Meijer, and Regional One’s Chief Investment Officer, George Mamangakis.

This partnership highlights the E-Freighter’s appeal to cargo operators. Regional One’s initial order was placed in 2022. The E-Freighter, based on the E190 platform, boasts a maximum structural payload of 13,500 kg, which offers over 40% more volume capacity compared to large cargo turboprops, three times their range, and up to 30% lower operating costs than larger narrowbody freighters.

Mamangakis commented that the additional conversions will help meet the growing demand for “efficient, flexible, and sustainable cargo solutions,” while Meijer noted the E-Freighter’s “outstanding capabilities” in supporting Regional One’s growth in the cargo sector.

Bridges Air Cargo Pioneers E190F Operations

In a milestone for the E-Freighter program, Embraer and Regional One named Bridges Air Cargo, part of Bridges Worldwide, as the launch customer for the E190F, with the first of two converted jets set to enter service in Q3 2025. Announced by Meijer, Regional One’s President, Hank Gibson, and Bridges Air Cargo’s Managing Director, Guy Bridges, the deal follows the E190F’s triple certification by the FAA, EASA, and ANAC. Bridges Air Cargo, which supports global logistics providers like FedEx, DHL, and UPS, will leverage the E190F’s 13,500 kg payload and enhanced range to serve time-critical routes and develop new secondary and tertiary markets. Bridges highlighted the aircraft’s role in filling an “under-served space in the cargo segment,” while Gibson praised the partnership for “setting a new benchmark for regional cargo transport.” The E190F was designed to meet e-commerce and modern trade demands, replacing older, less efficient freighters with its superior performance and cost-efficiency.

Embraer’s E-Freighter Market Strategy

The E190F addresses a critical gap in the air cargo market, driven by the rise of e-commerce and decentralized logistics. Its ability to deliver fast shipments to regional markets with lower operating costs positions it as a competitive alternative to both turboprops and larger freighters, aligning with Embraer’s focus on innovative, sustainable solutions for the evolving aviation industry.

The Paris Air Show 2025 announcements highlight Embraer’s growing influence in the cargo sector, capitalizing on the E190F’s versatility to meet diverse market needs. Regional One’s expanded order strengthens Embraer’s P2F program, while Bridges Air Cargo’s launch role validates the E190F’s potential to reshape regional freight operations. These developments bolster Embraer’s position in a high-growth market, reinforcing its commitment to efficiency and sustainability in air cargo.
