Cabin Experience

Representing a harmonious blend of luxury and functionality, the aircraft’s cabin provides a serene and productive environment for up to 10 passengers. Measuring 25 feet 10 inches in usable length, 7 feet 2 inches in width, and 6 feet 1 inch in height, the cabin offers ample space for comfort and movement. It can be configured into distinct living zones, such as a forward double-club seating arrangement paired with an aft four-seat conference area or a three-seat divan, depending on client preferences. The aircraft can sleep up to five passengers, making it ideal for overnight or transcontinental journeys.

The aircraft features 100 percent fresh air replenishment every two to three minutes, ensuring a clean and healthy cabin environment through its air ionisation system, which blocks pathogens and allergens. It maintains a low altitude of 4,800 feet while cruising at 41,000 feet, significantly reducing passenger fatigue on long flights compared to the typical 8,000 feet of commercial aircraft. Natural light floods the interior through 19 signature oval windows—the largest in its class—enhancing the sense of space and offering panoramic views of the world below.

Gulfstream’s Cabin Management System (CMS), which integrates with an iPod touch or personal smart devices via an iOS app, allows passengers to personalise their environment by exercising control over lighting, temperature, window shades, and entertainment options, including dual Blu-ray/DVD players and high-definition monitors. Provision of Viasat’s Ka-band satellite internet enables seamless video conferencing, streaming, and cloud-based productivity. The CabinView system keeps passengers informed and engaged through real-time flight progress updates, moving maps, and points of interest.

The aircraft’s fully equipped galley with cold storage, a coffee maker, hot/cold sink, solid surface countertop, and a large waste container ensures gourmet catering capabilities for extended flights. The aft lavatory includes a vacuum toilet, two windows for natural light, a full-size closet, and a vanity unit, adding to passenger privacy and comfort. Technology (Engines and Avionics)

The two Honeywell HTF7250G turbofan engines, each delivering 7,624 pounds of thrust, are equipped with dual-channel Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) and thrust reversers, endowing the aircraft with a balance of power and fuel efficiency. The engines contribute to a 12 percent reduction in fuel burn compared to competitors, resulting in lower operating costs and aligning with Gulfstream’s sustainability goals. At a cruising speed of Mach 0.82, the aircraft burns approximately 1,800 pounds of fuel per hour, making it one of the most efficient aircraft in its class.

The aircraft’s PlaneView280 flight deck, based on the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics suite, is designed to enhance pilot efficiency and safety. Apart from three 15-inch high-resolution which displays provide critical flight information,  cursor control devices and a Flight Management System (FMS) streamline operation. The Synthetic Vision-Primary Flight Display (SV-PFD) overlays 3D terrain and runway graphics, and the Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS), enables precision landings in low-visibility conditions without natural vision. Additional features like autothrottle, autobrakes, and an optional Head-up Guidance System (HGS) with infrared imagery further reduce pilot workload and enhance situational awareness.

The PlaneConnect Health Monitoring System (HMS) integrates with the avionics suite, offering real-time diagnostics to alert crews and ground personnel of potential issues, ensuring proactive maintenance and reducing downtime. The aircraft also complies with NextGen airspace requirements, including Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC), positioning it for efficient operations in modern air traffic systems.

Performance

With a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.85 (1,050 km/h) and a long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.80, the aircraft’s maximum range of 3,600 nautical miles (6,667 km) allows nonstop flights between city pairs such as London to New York, Dubai to Singapore, or New York to Los Angeles, carrying four passengers with NBAA IFR reserves. It can climb directly to 43,000 feet in just 20 minutes at maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 39,600 pounds, offering the highest thrust-to-weight ratio among Gulfstream aircraft. It enables it to fly above commercial traffic and weather disturbances.

Certified for steep-approach operations, the aircraft requires only 4,750 feet for take-off and 2,720 feet for landing. It ensures access to challenging airports like London City, which has strict approach and noise restrictions. This capability, combined with its ability to operate in high-altitude and low-visibility conditions, makes the aircraft  highly versatile, capable of accessing over 5,000 airports worldwide. The aircraft’s wing is derived from the Gulfstream G550 airfoil. It features a larger 495-square-foot area and optimised high-lift devices, enhancing lift, reducing drag, and improving short-field performance.

The aircraft holds over 75 city-pair speed records, including a notable Bangor, Maine, to Olbia, Sardinia, flight completed in six hours and 59 minutes, showcasing its agility and speed. Its operational flexibility and reliability, with a National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) dispatch reliability rate of 99.81 percent, make it a popular choice for diverse missions.
