With the signing of their most extensive maintenance agreement to date, Lufthansa Technik and the
Cathay Group mark a new chapter in their long-standing partnership.

Over the next six years, the
leading provider of technical aircraft services will exclusively deliver Total Component Maintenance
(TCM)
for the 747 and 777 fleets of Hong Kong’s flag carrier. Services for a total of 20 Boeing 747 freighters and 52 Boeing 777 passenger aircraft will commence in October.

As part of the new TCM agreement, Cathay will benefit from Lufthansa Technik’s comprehensive “power-by-the-hour” services, which cover component repair and overhaul for 72 aircraft. By managing all component-related activities, Lufthansa Technik ensures high reliability and operational stability across the airline’s fleet. The support package, specifically tailored to Cathay Pacific’s needs, provides maximum flexibility and helps optimise both fleet availability and cost efficiency.

“Cathay has entrusted Lufthansa Technik with component maintenance for more than one-third of our fleet, marking a significant milestone that underscores our confidence in their technical expertise,” said Keith Brown, Director of Engineering at Cathay. “We look forward to fostering a strong and enduring collaboration that meets our fleet demands and operational priorities.”
